Suraj, the brother of Prajwal Revanna, was detained on suspicion of sexually assaulting a party worker.

Suraj Revanna, the older brother of Prajwal Revanna, the party's accused rapist, was taken into custody by Karnataka police one day after he was reported for reportedly beating a 27-year-old employee.

Suraj Revanna's close aide had managed to get an extortion case brought against the purported victim. Shivakumar, the assistant, claimed that the man initially sought Rs 5 crore but ultimately agreed to accept Rs 2 crore.

In accordance with IPC Sections 377 (carnal intercourse against the order of nature), 342 (wrongful detention), 506 (intentional insult to induce breach of peace), and 34 (common intention), the Holenarasipura Rural Police filed a sexual assault case on Saturday. Shivakumar and Suraj Revanna have both been listed as defendants in this case by the police.

The victim allegedly paid Suraj Revanna a visit at a farmhouse in the Holenarasipura taluk of the Hassan district on June 16 at approximately 6:15 p.m., according to the FIR obtained by The Indian Express.

The complainant said that the MLC had threatened to harm his family, stripped him, and sexually attacked him. Suraj Revanna allegedly promised the complainant a job and political advancement. "I told Shivakumar about the incident and vowed to pursue justice," Shivakumar later made me an offer of Rs 2 crore if I would keep the facts secret. On Wednesday, though, I traveled to Bengaluru out of fear for my life. "I am prepared to furnish proof to support these accusations," he stated in his grievance.

The sons of JD(S) MLA H D Revanna and Bhavani Revanna, who is also suspected of kidnapping one of Prajwal's alleged victims of sexual assault, are Suraj and Prajwal. Their uncle is Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy, and their grandfather is former prime minister H D Deve Gowda. Former Hassan JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna has been detained in three cases involving alleged sexual assault.
